"Shopping" for my garden

kitchen_kinkSo after some research, I've decided to go with one Square Foot Garden box, as well as several containers, as I have them. A couple questions for my gardening friends:
1. Where do you go to find wood or plastic that people don't want, for use as SFG materials? I'm willing to buy new lumber, but it'd be great to start from a place of recycling instead.
2. Anyone have extra compost they're looking to get rid of?
