I'm interested in finding a group in which to practice Spanish conversation and brush up on grammar and vocab. Anyone either 1) know of such a thing that's cheap or free, 2) know where to look for such things, or 3) want to start one and has vastly superior Spanish skills to mine?

You might want to check with the language departments of local universities. NAU's Spanish dept. has a thing called "tertulia" where students & faculty get together to chat in spanish at a bar on Thursday evenings. You don't have to be enrolled in Spanish classes to attend...the only problem is that sometimes instructors give their classes extra credit for attending, and then there are a lot of low-proficiency students who don't really want to be there.

I attend Spanish meetups here in Providence, and they are mildly-to-somewhat helpful in accomplishing the goal you describe. And they are free.

Hiya!

Sounds good...except for the part where they're in Providence.

I can't imagine that there's no such thing here.

Right right, sorry for not being clear. There are Meetups in each city, organized by topic/interest.
