Back in the day, I felt like everyone was on Livejournal, and I got a lot of comments going with some frequency.

These days, I get mostly crickets.

I accept that it may just be because what I'm writing these days isn't as provocative of discussion as in the past. I also get the sense that a lot of people have gone off to Dreamwidth and other blogging sites, and that many people are spending a bunch of their online-social time and energy on Facebook and Twitter. So maybe that's it.

Still. It'd just be nice to know whether folks are listening. Ping here if you're still reading?

I came searching after I saw your facebook comment (which was a fluke because I'm not on facebook that often). This post does not show up on my friends page. I didn't see it until I came to your page directly, otherwise I would've commented sooner.

We are listening.

Same here (didn't see it on my friendspage, came here via FB) although I admit my LJ use has dropped a *lot*. I am on Dreamwidth but everything is crossposted and I have basically nobody to read on Dreamwidth who's not also on LJ, so that's not a factor. I just don't read or comment consistently on anyone's LJ any more -- [livejournal.com profile] zendzian always has to tell me to go look when he posts! But I still write sometimes, and I always hope people are still reading. I would hate to see the LJ community die off as I still prefer it over all other social media.

I do occasionally catch LJ posts I missed when people link to them on FB! (Though I am trying to cut back on FB too. All social media use cuts into my schoolwork.) Can't crosspost from LJ to FB myself, my whole journal is friendslocked.

Same here.
I pretty much always read your posts - when they appear on my friends page, anyway.

I'm yet another who couldn't see it until I typed [livejournal.com profile] dietrich's URL into search. I don't know why I couldn't see it on my f'list.

Same issue here. Curious why that's happening.

Alas, apparently nothing you've written in weeks, maybe months, has been visible in my friends feed. This is distressing.

This thing is still on - however, there's a definite LJ problem.
Let me explain. Wait, no, that will take too long, let me sum up.
I went through my reading list today, as is my usual. I saw nothing from you on my reading list. Normally when I see nothing from somebody on my reading list it is either that they have not posted or they posted behind a lock I cannot see.
You did not post this behind a lock I cannot see. I can see both of your posts from today when I am looking at just your journal. However, I doublechecked (and triplechecked) my reading filter; neither of your posts appeared there.

This seems to be an LJ bug. I am still (definitely) interested in reading about your life (a poor second to hanging out with you, but a beggar ain't a chooser). Do you want me to contact LJ admin about this, or would you prefer to do so first? It makes me wonder who else I haven't seen...

This is distressing to hear. I've had a dearth of comments on my posts myself, and I thought I'd just grown boring. I wonder who else's posts I haven't been able to see? I never saw this post from [livejournal.com profile] dietrich until I went looking for it.

Still here hon, not going anywhere. This is where Meaningful Things get posted dontchya know --for me Facebook is very surface-level; very little beyond "and now here's the local weather" (and of course a great deal of shameless art self-promotion).

Aha! I see I'm not the only one. Okay. Feeling slightly less like a doofus, but wow, it's weird that your posts haven't been showing up.

I read my friends page from time to time, but very seldom post anymore. I don't like Facebook, but it's turned into a better way to remain in contact with my friends than LJ ever was.

Incidentally, your posts don't show up on my friends page anymore, even though we're still mutual friends. I haven't figured out why this is. I only knew you posted this because you mentioned it on FB.

I still read, but your posts aren't showing up on my friends feed anymore (I came here to look directly at your LJ after I saw your FB post).

Heh, I was worried something bad had happened when you posted on Facebook. Glad this was just a ping. I check sporadically, but have been spending my time this semester mostly on (a) teaching two new classes (b) attempting to publish something (c) Facebook, although I'm getting pretty sporadic about that too (d) making some sort of lame attempt to get back into 10K shape and (e) poetry bulletin board where friendly wolves rip my work to shreds.
