In the moment when we merge, there is an endless poignancy; the feeling of eternity almost touched. In a single moment, I feel both the sense that I am one with you, and the immediate sense of loss: I am not, and never will in this lifetime be, one with you.

So goes the universe, as I sob in gratitude, in the pain of mystery: all things simultaneously strive toward one another, and strive apart, as the splintered children of the cosmic orgasm stretch toward individuation, as the dream of oneness draws us ever inward.

This tension is life itself.
