I know Kelly, who worked with my ex at the Media Lab. I remember a visit where we went to NYC & she was working on her dissertation, which involved her singing along with construction machines. She managed to charm a lot of workers into lending her their hard hats & letting her going into ridiculous places to record herself making noises, say, inside a cement mixer.

The funny thing is that in real life she sounds kind of like Betty Boop, only a little breathier.

Ayup. And 'tis a small world, or at least that was a big party. I keep running into people who attended it. It was a really great party.

How on earth did you deduce that of all the people who were at MIT at the same time as Kelly, I used to date ERP?

Lucky guess? R and Kelly worked closely together, and I knew your first name from a quick glance at your profile, and that you were in Davis. Seemed likely.

Also, I believe we spent NYE in 2000 sipping champagne in DC with you folks, perhaps after that party at the White House? I may have some photos to give you, if I can find them.
