So, I think a big part of the reason I've not finished the damn novel yet (now standing at 460 pages) is that I'm bored with it. I'm hoping that this is simply a sign that I've been working on this project for too long, and not that the material itself is dull.

Sigh. Off to bang out some more pages and try to get to the end, dammit! It's spring, and I want to write short stories!

Oh, my monkey friend, because it's ALMOST DONE!

What I really need to do is finish a first draft. I've been working on it for over five years. It's freakin' TIME.

Once a draft is finished, I can put it away and work on other stuff.

I got bored and fed up with my novel near the end, and I wrote the last few chapters in a short frustrated blast just to have the draft done. Looking back now, those chapters are IMO some of my best writing ever. Funny, that.
