Usually I like it a lot when a song's music mirrors the lyrics' intent.

But Robert Smith singing, "Over and over and over again," well, over and over and over again, is just freakin' annoying.

Sweetie, that sentence could have been eight words long. Just the first four and the last four would have done, and it would have been more broadly true, anyway.

It took me a few readings to realize you weren't saying I was being too long-winded. :)

Obnoxious, trite, repetitive lyrics don't just come from mopers. We can look to the world of R&B from the 1960s: "I know I know I know I know..."

Perhaps we could look to the Police: "I can't I can't, I can't stand losin'..."

Then again, even washed-up stars can do it: "And I can't get it out of my head..."

Maybe I should stop there. Everyone's ears are bleeding.
