From a random party conversation about how certain professions' ultimate goal should be their own obsolescence; e.g. therapists, political activists, firefighters - who do their jobs because they are necessary and they want to help people, but who probably agree that if people didn't need help, the world would be a better place. And how really, it would be nice if police looked at their jobs that way as well, instead of thinking of it as an opportunity to kick some ass.
pasquin: What about boxers?
dietrich: Well, I don't really think boxers count, as their goal isn't the end of fighting. They're fighting as a sport, not for the sake of fighting, it's true, but I'm sure they'd rather their jobs didn't become obsolete. I mean, they're not boxing for peace.
pasquin: Yeah, boxing for peace would be bizarre. It's like fucking for chastity.
